"Helen," he said, displaying her name.

The audience erupted into absolute pandemonium. Some were thrilled, some were shocked, but few people had expected it. The ovation was enormous.

Helen, for her part, could only react in one way.

She shrieked.

Paschal reached over to hug her, clutching her close as the tightly wound Naval Instructor began to unravel. Screaming at the top of her lungs and crying, Helen had not planned for this. She absolutely had not planned for it. Never in a million years had she thought she could win. No one had thought so. But the jury votes had been there. Tammy, for loyalty and because she was adamant that a chick should win this thing. Greg, because she was the underdog. Silas, because he wouldn't lose to an old man.

And Kelly. Kelly Wiglesworth. Kelly and Helen had been friends, the two of them had been slightly awkward, slightly outcast from Tuktu since day one. Kelly recognized a kindred spirit and, to the end, she wanted to make sure that a chick won this thing. Sure, she loved Paschal, but Helen needed her vote. Helen was the one receiving the blasting from the jury. It had been all the swaying that Kelly needed.

Kelly had been there before.

Kelly had once needed a friend on the jury.

So Kelly had done her best to right a past wrong.

And maybe now she could sleep a little better at night.

Jeff Probst snuffed out Paschal's torch and went over to congratulate Helen. She was still completely in shock, and he had to remind her that they were still taping.

"What you've just seen," said Jeff, turning to the camera, "Is one of the most unbelievable final votes we have ever had. Everyone thought that Paschal couldn't be beaten. Everyone in the game seemed to assume that it was over. But what we have seen time and again in this game is that you must expect the unexpected."

The rest of the Alaskan players filed onto the stage, filling in a set of bleachers to the side.

"In the next hour," Jeff said, "We are going to relive our great Alaskan adventure. We'll be talking with the players, as this is the first time they have been reunited since we left Denali. We'll be talking with all of them. Remember the Kelly-Jerri blowup? We'll explore that. Remember Neleh and Tammy? They're here too. But most of all, we'll talk to our newest millionaire, Helen Glover." The camera panned to her, but she still still shrieking at the top of her lungs.

"Stay with us," Jeff finished, "For the Alaskan reunion show. It's sure to be a memorable evening, and we hope to have a lot of fun."

The camera panned out, showing the Survivors gathered on stage. The audience was still applauding as a monitor to the side of the stage replayed Helen's reaction, and her look of utter shock and disbelief. But it was over now. History had been made, and a new millionaire had been born.

Her name was Helen Glover.
